How we build VoiceCraft, where we're headed, and how to connect with the team.
How We Build VoiceCraft
VoiceCraft is built by System Logic with a focus on privacy, performance, and reliability. Our engineering process prioritizes local-first architecture: wherever possible, your audio and text are processed directly in your browser using WebAssembly and modern web APIs. That means no unnecessary data uploads, lower latency, and better privacy for you.
We use a mix of proven open-source models and our own optimizations. The Voice Recorder and transcription, for example, run entirely on your device once the page is loaded. The Script Editor, Text Summarizer, and other text tools also run in-browser. We document our approach in our Documentation and About pages so you can understand exactly how your data is handled.
We release updates regularly: new voices, improved accuracy, and new tools (e.g. specialized panels for podcast show notes, meeting minutes, and more). Announcements and tutorials appear on our blog. We don't maintain a public changelog feed outside the website, so the blog and documentation are the best places to stay informed.
Product Roadmap & Priorities
Our roadmap is driven by user feedback and our goal to make professional-grade voice and text tools accessible for free in the browser. Current priorities include:
- Accuracy and language support: Improving transcription quality and adding more languages and accents for both speech-to-text and text-to-speech.
- New tools and templates: Expanding the set of specialized tools (e.g. for education, healthcare, and content creators) so more workflows are covered.
- Account and sync (optional): For users who want it, we are exploring optional cloud backup and sync so your history and preferences can follow you across devices—always with clear consent and encryption.
- API and integrations: A commercial API for developers and enterprises who want to embed our models or pipelines into their own products. If that interests you, see our Partners page or contact us.
We don't publish detailed public timelines, but we ship frequently. The best way to influence what we build next is to use the tools, send us feedback via the Contact page or email, and tell us what would help you most.
Closed Source Development
VoiceCraft is a proprietary product developed by System Logic. Unlike some of our earlier open-source experiments, the core VoiceCraft codebase is private. This allows us to maintain security, stability, and clear licensing for commercial and enterprise partners while still offering a free, full-featured experience for individual users.
We use and contribute to open-source libraries and models where it makes sense (e.g. for speech and language models), but the VoiceCraft application itself—including the UI, orchestration, and optimizations—is not publicly hosted on GitHub. If you're interested in contributing or licensing, the right path is through our team (see below).
Connect with System Logic
We don't run public forums or a community Discord. The best way to reach us for feature ideas, partnerships, API inquiries, or press is through our leadership team on LinkedIn or via the contact form. We read every message and respond as capacity allows.
You can also email systemlogicicp@gmail.com or use our Contact page for general inquiries.
Note: We do not maintain a public Discord or Slack. All official updates and support are provided through our website, blog, and direct contact channels above.
